Have you been to a Diner lately?

I love Diners

Maybe it's because I grew up in the
  Diner Capitol of the World
New Jersey

There are over 600 diners in New Jersey.

There is only one diner near where we live now,
Ritchie's Diner and their food is good, but some how, it's not the same.

Recently I was in Las Vegas and ended up at
They have 7 locations in Las Vegas,
click on their name for their website if your heading that way.

It was just like a Diner I grew up at.
The staff was nice,
 the service was prompt,
 and the portions were big,
which I like.

I ordered the turkey club, YUM!
my son ordered the kids smile pancake
my daughter had the meatball sandwich
my mom had a hamburger
and my dad ordered one of the specials, chicken and pasta
My super coupon had to drive home and go to work,
but I know if he was with us he would have ordered something with fries and brown gravy, or a pizza burger one of my favorites.

Sometimes I miss the food selection you get at restaurants,
diners just have a whole different feel.
When I'm missing the food I grew up with,
I end up turning on Diners, Drive in's and Dives and Guy Fieri.
It makes me feel right at home, truth is he reminds me a little bit of my brother, who I don't get to see often so it two fixes in one.

Yes, I am aware that their hair is not the same!
But they are both funny and crack me up,
they do resemble each other, a little bit.

Searching for a photo of my brother brought me to a file,
with all types of food photos from out trip to N.J.
I can't believe it's been two already.

While we were there, we ate at the Red Lion Diner in Southampton off Rt 70.
We passed it go to and from the Philly Airport and ate their both times,
the food was fantastic.
My super coupon ordered a Greek Salad and
 asked for some chicken,
just look at the side dish of chicken they brought him.
I ordered the French dip.
and big G and little g ordered waffle sundae's
oh those smiles were big, it was after 9:00 at night and this was our dinner.
Traveling cross country sure makes you hungry.
my kids look so much younger, it's amazing how much they grow in two years.

Where is your favorite Diner?
 When you are there,
 what do you order?

Two of my favorites you've just seen, a turkey club and a French dip.
my other favorite is the pizza burger and I haven't even touched upon their breakfasts.

  1. Yummm! The turkey club would be my choice.
I never go out to eat something. Sometimes, I use the delivery. Lol
But I usually like more what I cook than what I buy cooked.

  3. HAHAHA! Diners! Still living in NJ, I am afraid I might take them a bit for granted, but since I grew up in Texas I know there is a land where diners are few and far between. These portions are MASSIVE, it cracks me up how big that turkey club is :)

  5. We have a fun diner close to us, The Blue Plate Diner. We were lucky to have the famous Guy Fieri visit it when he blew by- it really is a great place if you're ever in SLC.
