Manhattan Delicatessen and Bakery

Corned beef Reuben

What a great intro to
  March
I love corned beef and certainly haven't enjoyed a sandwich as amazing as this in a long time.

The Manhattan Deli opened in Temecula just about a month ago
the food is nothing short of
 fabulous!

their pickle plate is so fresh, just look at all that yummy-ness.

You did see the word
BAKERY
didn't you

well they sure know how to do desserts right!
take a look...

canolis on the top left then pies and cakes and check out that apple turnover... enormous
going down from the canolis  is a tower of heaven (my name for it)
then the macaroons they are huge!
and check out that big cupake.

Did you guess which one I had..
The tower of heaven of course-I'm not sure what they call it..but it was delicious.
it's chocolate cake a layer of cherries, cheesecake and  brownie
with yummy chocolate frosting in between.
Remember it was still my birthday -week...come on you celebrate all week don't you!

when my friend and I arrived the wait was 25 minutes for lunch-and YES the food is worth it!
we thought it would be fun to sit at the counter and this nice gentleman moved over a spot so we could sit...
he was fun, and I knew I liked him right away. He’s from NY and very friendly. If you are from NJ, like me, but live far from home, it’s great to make a new friend from "back home". Guess who has the same birthday as me --- you guesed it, he does!

this was my first visit and I've already been back for seconds!
and yes I took pictures---and yes I will show you---soon.

  6. That sandwich looks like the best thing ever, actually second best to that insane piece of brownie/cheesecake deliciousness!

  7. I am from NJ too and oh how I miss the bakeries, Pizza and Sabrett hot dog carts in NYC. There is nothing to compare here in Sacramento. Those photos bring back memories. I want to go visit NY just for the food!
