birthday cookie

Today is a very special day,
it's my mom's birthday

she is so pretty
 sweet
thoughtful
 very creative
talented
and
full of love

It is always a challenge having a birthday so close to Christmas,
this year to celebrate her birthday we went to lunch at Pechanga
 will post that soon,
(Pechanga even read my previous review of their restaurant Kelsey's and began following me on twitter)
It was a nice afternoon out just my parents, and the super coupon and me :)
 (kids were in school)
Well since that was days ago, we are now going to surprise her and take her out to dinner today.

I baked her a giant cookie,
why would I bake her a giant cookie of all things?

Believe it or not she has mentioned over and over to me that the
birthday I made her the giant chocolate chip cookie was the best.
Simple enough,
I use the recipe on the Toll House Morsels
place the entire batch of dough in on my baking stone,
form it flat and round.

bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees

it gets a nice golden brown color

crispier on the outside and softer on the inside

then added some buttercream roses and a birthday wish!

I'm sure she'll be surprised as I saw her yesterday, sang happy birthday to her this morning and didn't mention a thing.

  4. Diane, I have a few questions with this - did you use an full batch of chocolate chip cookie dough?

How much buttercream did you make? 1/2 a batch? still that seems like a lot of icing.

We buy these so often for the kids birthdays...I'd love to make one!!

    Thanks
